What a Magical Piece! This gigantic nugget of fine Ethiopian rough opal is the focal bead of this gorgeous necklace. It is strung on petite micro-facetted fancy sapphires that don't compete with the gloriousness of the opal because they are a little more pastel in color than a lot of the other fancy sapphires I use. There are a lot more colors in this piece than are captured in this one picture. You can image how hard opals are to photograph. It is strung with itty bitty seed pearls that always make me thing "Wow! I can still string!" when I use them because they are so gosh darn tiny. The only reason I can get away with juxtaposing such tiny beads with such a large opal is because opals are naturally so lightweight. A spectacular piece but you deserve it!
